| jpg jpeg |
The JPEG (Joint Photographic Experts Group) format is normally used to save photographic images due to its high 24bit color depth. Your digital camera will most likely have JPEG as its default format to save images. For better image quality, images should be 300dpi (dots per inch) or above, or be very large images that can be scaled down. Small images taken from a website are usually 72dpi, and although will look fine on a monitor, may not print clearly. Please respect other people's copyright if taking images from the web, as you may not have permission to use them. | ![]() |
| png | PNG (Portable Network Graphics) is a bitmap image format that employs lossless data compression. Our application does NOT currently support the PNG transparency. | ![]() |
| gif | Although Jungletop will allow Gif images to be used, they are low quality and will not print clearly. Try to use larger, higher-resolution Jpegs when possible. | ![]() |
If you place a small, low-resolution image into Jungletop and 'make it bigger' by scaling it up, it will not look as clear in the final print. Images that are scaled up lose their sharpness and quality, as they are essentially just being 'stretched' to fill the space they need. Starting your postcard with a good quality photo will mean a better quality final print.
